INGREDIENTS
For the cake:
- 3 eggs.
- 70g sugar.
- 1 tablespoon vanilla essence.
- 60g baking flour.
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
- 110g of dark chocolate drops 50% cocoa.
- 100g butter
For the chocolate coating:
- 300g dark chocolate drops 50% cocoa.
- 150g of whipping cream (35% fat)
For decoration:
- A dark chocolate hen (you can also choose your favourite Easter figure).
- Chocolate and praline eggs.
Preparation
- Heat the oven to 180º.
- Melt the butter with the chocolate in a bain-marie.
- In a bowl add the eggs and sugar. Beat until you have a kind of white cream.
- Add the vanilla essence. Beat until all the ingredients are incorporated.
- Add the flour previously sifted with the baking powder.
- Add the mixture of the chocolate drops with the butter (making sure it is not too hot).
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until our knife comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and leave to cool before carefully unmoulding.
For the topping and decoration:
- Put the chocolate drops in a bowl and add the hot cream. Mix until you have a creamy mixture.
- Leave the mixture at room temperature until you can put it in the piping bag.
- Cover the cake with the icing, using a spatula.
- Start making the top layer. Use the piping bag and decorate from the outside inwards.
- We put our favourite Easter figure on top.
- Add chocolate eggs and Praline, which will give a touch of colour to the monkey.
